___#SUNNY NIGHTS___
A 40 DAYS OF NIGHT PROJECT
OVER A YEAR IN THE MAKING
Having won the prestigious Theatre Communications Group's Global Connections On the Road grant, the Lasky family embarked on the beginning of what's become a year and a half collaboration with several Russian theatres, partners, and organizations to create a new full-length play set within the Arctic Circle's Murmansk, Russia.
We lived and worked in the polar night, where the SUN NEVER RISES, starting in December 2015, braving temperatures reaching -37 °C and meeting and exchanging with artists, personalities, and local media organizations. In the last year and a half, the project has blossomed.
THIS SUMMER, WE'RE GOING BACK!
After spending the last 10 months in Kenya (all of 2 hours from The Equator), in July 2017, we'll return to Murmansk to see our old friends, make new ones, and experience polar day, in which the SUN NEVER SETS. This adventure will complement our first excursion in ways that we have yet to imagine.
Be sure to check back here for updates on #sunnynights, a 40 Days of Night project.
